Vermont Yankee, in Vernon, VT, has indeed had a fire, a cooling tower has fallen down and it has had multiple leaks of tritium (radioactive hydrogen). The State plans to shut it down in March 2012 when its operating license expires. But the owner, Entergy, and the federal regulator, see things a little differently. Entergy even tried to sell the reactor - so far, no takers!
